Positive Displacement Pump Applications

In previous posts, we have discussed how the various types of positive displacement pumps work including lobe pumps, archimedean screw, peristaltic pumps, diaphragm pumps and progressive displacement pumps (often known generically as Mono pumps after the first manufacturer of this type of pump).  The generic characteristic of these pumps is that they are generally capable of pumping not only liquids, but in some cases high particulate liquids, slurries, high viscosity fluids and even some granular materials.
